Dr. Emma Bell is an experienced Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society as an Associate Fellow and with the Health Care Professions Council. She is passionate about the lasting impact that therapy can have and feels that it is a genuine privilege to be part of helping others to address their difficulties and achieve their goals.

In addition to a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London, Emma has had further training in a variety of therapies and feels strongly that each individual's difficulties should be addressed in a collaborative and compassionate way, using therapies which have been proven to work, recommended by the Department of Health’s NICE guidelines, and which have had high levels of satisfaction by her clients. 

As well as her Private Practice, Emma works as Principal Clinical Psychologist and Psychology Lead for a Mental Health team in Sussex Partnership NHS Trust. With 20 years of experience working in mental health and wellbeing, she has worked with people across the age range, in University hospitals, community and voluntary services, being involved in clinical work, leadership and service development. Emma has been heavily involved in training and supervising others in CBT and other therapies. She is also accredited in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) including as an IPT supervisor. She regularly uses EMDR which is a very effective therapy for working with trauma and Post Traumatic Stress disorder (PTSD). In addition, she uses schema therapy, mindfulness, narrative and other more integrative psychotherapy and counselling approaches.

Emma has experience training and supervising Trainee Clinical Psychologists at Doctorate level as well as Child Psychotherapists as part of a Postgraduate Certificate Course in CBT for Children and Young People.

Emma provides supervision privately and has a Post Graduate Certificate from the University of Surrey in Clinical Supervision. She is also offering consultation to the head of the counselling service at a local University and delivers Stress and Wellbeing workshops for employers in the NHS and other organisations.

Emma enjoys working across the age range with adults, adolescents and children.
